Many of us get totally petrified when it comes to public speaking. In fact, comedian Jerry Seinfeld even commented that most people at funerals would rather prefer lying in the coffin than say the eulogy! While some of us might laugh at this, there are yet many who would agree to this; and this is solely because some of us have our presentation skills sharpened and the rest have not even tried!

Have you ever wondered what causes such a fear? Sandra Bobkin who is a Toronto based executive coach says that emotional intelligence occurs when we understand what thought and feelings trigger our fear of speaking and that the lack of training is one of those emotional triggers. In fact, Toronto toastmasters believe that if one has never been trained for researching, writing and delivering a speech, he ought to feel scared! For instance, if you think of skydiving, jumping out with a parachute is no doubt scary but safe after all; at the same time, jumping out without a parachute (i.e. any preparation) is totally irresponsible and terrifying. The same concept applies to public speaking!

Toronto Toastmasters Make It Easy!

Many would like to rebuttal on this saying that the pioneers of public speaking are those who have an innate talent in oration, while the truth lies in the fact that it is just a matter of technique! Like learning to talk when you were a child took some efforts, learning to present one’s thoughts and opinions too requires an effort. If we look at some prodigies as natural leaders, it is simply because they inspire people when they talk and that has taken practice and years of experience. This is what the toastmasters Toronto intend to do: deliver some great orators and presenters!

These are the professionals who know and have witnessed several life cases where people have attained tremendous success in their field but are just not influential enough or cannot be taken as role models just because they lack communication skills. Imagine you have created a beautiful software, maybe an anti-hacking one but it just does not sell or does not get popular because you cannot beautify its features with words that strike the mind!

So, the toastmasters Toronto, having understood the need of the hour existing in almost every sphere of life have given a new vision to those who fear public speaking and presentations by introducing a great module that teaches ways of public speaking and also how to get rid of its fear! Acknowledging the fact that the audience comprises of mere humans and that everyone fears, so you are perfectly normal is a great start to boost your hidden talent. While ‘practice’ is their only methodology, one is sure to receive immense exposure while learning from them because it’s like a conglomeration of same minded people getting together to get rid of their common fears!

Public speaking is after all no big deal if you have been trained well and that begins with you as an individual for if you drive yourself with determination and courage to train yourself, sky is the limit! Indeed becoming the spectacular and powerful orator Antonius would be a dream come alive with the help of the Toronto toastmasters!
